Set up your first agent
LiveRead your website, attach it to an agent, try it, decide what it may do on its own, and send someone the chat link. About fifteen minutes.
An agent is only as good as what you have told it. This guide is the shortest honest way from a new workspace to an agent your customers can use: your own information first, everything else after.
In the app, Get set up on Home tracks the same five steps. The button under it walks you through them one at a time: it says Start here the first time and Carry on after that. You can stop after any step and come back — Home remembers where you got to, because it reads what is really there rather than what you ticked.
You need the Owner, Admin or Builder role. Every new workspace gets ₹25 of free credits, which is plenty for this.
1. Tell it about your business
An agent may only say what you have given it. Anything else, it hands to your team.
If you have a website, this is the fastest way in:
- Open Start here on Home, or Knowledge in the sidebar and then Import from website.
- Enter your address, for example
www.yourshop.in. - Choose The whole site to bring in your pages, or Just that one page for a single FAQ page.
- We read the text of each page, one page at a time, and follow your site's rules for robots. It runs in the background, so you can carry on. We check the pages again every week and bring in what changed.
If the import fails, the app says why. The usual reasons are a page behind a login, a site that is all pictures with no text, or an address with a typo. This is not a dead end — the next two ways work just as well.
If you have no website, or the import failed:
- Upload your price list, brochure or policy document. PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, text or Markdown, up to 4 MB each.
- Type it in. A few lines of your delivery times, prices, timings and return policy is enough to start.
You can do all three. See Knowledge for the limits.
2. Pick the job it does
Choose the job you want handled: answering customer questions, following up on enquiries, taking booking requests, order and return questions, admissions enquiries, or HR questions from your staff.
The templates come with an example business we invented, so you can see the shape of it. Your agent starts without it, ready for your own information: through Start here we put your website and files in for you. If you tick Start with example data in the gallery, the example notes and table go in too — the agent is marked Our example text until you replace them, and Publish agent will stop and show you what it would otherwise tell your customers.
3. Ask it three real questions
Open the test chat and ask what your customers actually ask, in the words they use. Nothing is sent to anyone; test chats are simulations.
Read the answers as a customer would:
- A wrong answer almost always means the knowledge is missing something or says it twice in two different ways. Fix the knowledge and ask again.
- "I'll check with the team" is the right answer when you never told it. Add that fact if it matters.
- An answer that is too long or too formal is a change to the instructions, or to Reply length in the advanced settings.
Each test reply shows what it cost, in credits.
4. Decide what it does without you
Under What it does without asking you on the Build tab, the app lists everything the agent may do on its own — search your knowledge, save a lead, tell your team. Everything else waits in Tasks until someone in your workspace approves it.
Read the list and select This is right. If you change what a tool may do afterwards, we ask you to look again, because that list is the whole of what the agent can do behind your back.
Replying to a customer is a tool like any other. Templates set it to ask you first and then send by itself after 2 hours if nobody answers. See Tasks and approvals.
5. Put it in front of customers
- Select Publish agent. The draft becomes the live version; real conversations use it from now on.
- Take the chat link — a page at
app.dhanurai.com/c/…that anyone can open. Send it on WhatsApp, print it as a QR code for your counter, or put it in your bio.
When you are ready, you can also put the chat button on your website (Add chat to your website), give the agent its own email address (Answer customer emails), or share a chat page with a QR code (Share a chat link).
What happens next
- Tasks shows every conversation, what the agent did, and anything waiting for your approval.
- Analytics shows what it handled and what it cost, in credits.
- When it gets something wrong, add that fact to the knowledge. That is most of the work from here.
