Teach your agent by chatting

Live

No website needed. Tell your agent about your business in a chat, or send a photo of your rate card or a PDF, and accept each fact before it is used.

You don't need a website or a form to teach an agent. Chat with it the way you would teach a new shop assistant. Answer its questions, send a photo of your rate card or menu, forward a PDF, or share a link. You can write in Hindi, Hinglish or English.

The agent never changes anything by itself. Each thing it learns shows as a Here's what I learned card with the old value and the new one. Nothing changes until you accept the card, and you can edit it first or reject it.

Who can teach

  • Owners, Admins and Builders can teach an agent, and accept or reject what it learned.
  • Viewers can still chat with agents, but they can't teach them.
  • Customers can never teach an agent. Website chat, share links, WhatsApp, email and the API never get these tools, whatever a customer writes.

Start teaching

  1. Open the agent and stay on the Build tab.
  2. Under Knowledge, Teach by chatting shows what the agent still doesn't know, for example "Still to teach: delivery charges, Sunday hours and prices".
  3. Select Teach by chatting.
    • If the agent is live and shown in Team chat, Chat opens a new conversation with it.
    • If it isn't live yet, the test chat beside the Build tab starts one.
  4. The agent asks about one missing thing at a time. Answer in your own words.

You can also start from Chat. Before your first message, select Teach … about your business, or select Teach at the top of a chat you already have.

While you teach, the bar above the message box shows what is still to teach. Select Stop teaching when you are done. The chat stays open, and the agent stops asking.

What it asks about

The list comes from simple checks, not from AI. Each item is ticked when your business details, the agent's knowledge, its files and website pages, or its tables already cover it:

  • what you sell;
  • opening hours, and Sunday hours;
  • where you are;
  • how customers reach you;
  • prices;
  • delivery or pickup, and delivery charges;
  • payment methods;
  • what to pass to you;
  • returns and other policies.

Each kind of agent asks only what it needs. For example, an HR helper asks only about policies and what to pass to you.

One-line updates

You don't have to start teaching to tell an agent something new. In Team chat or the test chat, just say it:

  • "Sunday band rahega" proposes new opening hours, with Sunday closed.
  • "Kaju katli ab ₹1,250" proposes the new price in your products table.
  • "We now deliver up to 5 km" proposes a new paragraph for the agent's knowledge.

Each one waits for you on a card, like everything else it learns.

While you teach, send a photo of your rate card or menu, or a PDF:

  • The agent reads it and proposes rows for a table: item, size or pack, price in ₹ and notes.
  • If you don't have a products table yet, the card says the table will be made when you accept.
  • The card always says Check every price before you accept, because a photo can be hard to read.
  • You can fix any price, or leave a row out, before you accept.

You can also paste a link to a page, such as your menu on another site. The agent reads the page and proposes what it found. Reading a page is charged like the Read a web page tool.

Words in a photo, PDF or web page are someone else's words, so the agent treats them as information, not instructions. If a file says something like "ignore your rules", the most it can do is put a card in front of you. That card says it came from a file or a page, and you can reject it.

Accept, edit or reject

Every card shows exactly what changes:

What it learned Where it goes when you accept
Business details, such as opening hours, address or phone Your business details on the Knowledge page. Every agent that uses them has the change at once.
Knowledge, such as your delivery area or returns policy The agent's Knowledge box. When the agent is live, the live version gets the change too, unless a must-pass test set would stop a publish. Then it waits in the draft until you publish.
Table rows, such as items and prices The table, and the agent can look it up straight away.
  • Accept applies the change exactly as the card shows it.
  • Edit lets you change the new value, a price or a row first. Then select Accept with my changes.
  • Reject throws the card away, with a reason if you like. Nothing was changed.

Cards appear in the chat and in Tasks under Needs approval. Only Owners, Admins and Builders can decide them. If someone changed the same detail after the card was made, accepting stops and asks you to teach it again, so an old card can't overwrite a newer value.

Prices only ever reach your tables from cards you accepted. The agent can't write a price any other way.

What it costs

A teaching chat costs the same as any other chat: each reply, and reading a photo or PDF, is charged at the published price. Accepting or rejecting a card costs nothing. See Limits and costs.

Later

Planned. Teaching with voice notes, and teaching from your WhatsApp owner line.
